Lake Irrigation District

Valley Soil & Water Conservation District has worked with Lake Irrigation District under a NRCS EQIP Grant and Idaho Water Resources Board (IWRB) Aging Infrastructure Grant to move forward with converting a 12,340 ft open ditch at Lake Irrigation District (LID) Eastside Lateral to buried pipeline.

Project contracting has been completed and installation is set to begin in October 2026.

Converting to a buried pipeline will reduce sedimentation, decrease water evaporation loss, reduce safety hazards for children, return cold water to Lake Cascade improving water quality and decreasing toxic algae growth, and returning natural stream flow which will improve and fish habitat and wetlands.
